Welcome to my blog! Mama's Sewing Room is a space I've created to store and share sewing resources that I've found helpful and things that I've made and learned since I bought my first sewing machine in March 2011. Occasionally I have a wee ramble about something else too.
A little bit about me? I'm a stay at home mum of one who's recently discovered a passion for sewing. Originally from Scotland, I now live Australia with my German husband and our daughter. We're raising our daughter bilingual - if you're doing the same please get in touch, I'd love to hear how you're getting on! I'm in my mid-thirties and I love travel, reading and sewing. I spent a decade in the corporate world (IT & finance) but have happily left that hamster wheel far behind and hope one day to pursue a new career in counselling. To that end I'm studying a Diploma of Counselling with the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors via distance learning. I also volunteer on the phones at Lifeline once a fortnight. Who knows what the future holds? Right now I'm just loving being a busy full-time stay at home mum with a new-found sewing addiction :-)
